Holiday Lets

A warm, Highland welcome awaits at the new family home of Antoinette and Stephen Robertson-Carswell. Relax in very comfortable surroundings and discover just how much there is to experience and enjoy in Caithness, the most northerly county in mainland Scotland. With panoramic views across the bay to Dunnet Head and beyond, Valleyview’s peaceful, country location is only 5 minutes drive from the main ferry link to the Orkney Islands and 25 minutes from John O’Groats.

All are welcome at Valley View, especially children – please ask for a cot or high-chair – but, sadly, we cannot have visiting pets.

We have a wonderful children's garden

Drying and laundry facilities are available in the main house. For the comfort of ourselves and other guests we would ask you not to smoke anywhere in the building.

Breakfasts at Valleyview are an experience not to be missed as Steven who will be preparing your breakfast, was previously head chef and manager of the renowned Ulbster Arms Hotel and the only chef in the county to hold the coveted AA rosette.  He is now a lecturer at the North Highland College in Thurso, running their restaurant facility.

As you will see from the photographs, the house is beautiful and is constantly being upgraded.  Antoinette is a locally renowned Interior Designer and loves to use her talent to bring out the best in their home.

The Drawing Room

Whatever your interest, your holiday is our business and we aim to please.

We are able to offer you secure garage facilities for overnight parking, suitable for vintage cars visiting the local car rallies or touring rallies, or parking facilities for a boat or trailer if you need them!

If you are travelling with horses, then we have fields available for them whilst you stay with us.  We can also provide maps of cycle paths and information on golfing in the area.  Please just ask.

Just ask if there’s anything we can do to make your stay with us more memorable and we’ll do what we can.

Looking forward to meeting you…

Antoinette and Stephen Robertson Carswell.
